Increase your website's ranking

What do you do to make more traffic to your site? This post will tell you more about that.I 'll introduce to you some ranking engines on the internet here.

Google PageRank™

Google ranks pages based on a voting system. When other sites link to your blog, that's considered a "vote" cast in your favor. In addition, links from popular, relevant websites are weighted more than links from your aunt's blog about cats. The best way to increase your PageRank™ score is to have other well-ranked sites link to yours. You can also submit your site's URL to relevant directories such as the Open Directory Project or become a member of a blog ring to gain some exposure. If none of those suggestions work for you, call your friends (and your aunt) and ask them to link to your blog. (Bribe them with food. That always works).See more Google ranking hacks here

Alexa Score

Alexa's traffic rank is calculated based on the last three months of data collected from Alexa Toolbar users. Your score is a combination of page views and "reach". The number of page views is determined by how many Alexa Toolbar users visit each page in your website (duplicate visits from the same user on the same day are counted only once). Reach is measured by the number of Alexa users per million who visit your site. The best way to increase (really, decrease — you want to be #1 in this one) your Alexa score is to let people who visit your site know about it. The more visitors you have who are using the Alexa toolbar, the better your score will be. Put up a link to the Alexa Toolbar download on your site and get more of your visitors using it and you will see a decrease (remember decrease is good) in your Alexa score. You can also offer the Alexa Amazon Associate Toolbar, which allows you to create a customized Alexa toolbar for your site and earn commissions for Amazon sales that are generated through your site.

Technorati Ranking

Your Technorati Ranking is determined by the number of sites that point to your blog, relative to other blogs. In order to improve (decrease) your ranking, other bloggers and websites must link to you. You can bring attention to your blog by finding related blog entries by other bloggers and leaving comments that include a link to what you've written. This starts a sort of conversation in the blogosphere and improves your site's rank (and visibility) as more bloggers visit and link back to your site. Keep in mind that your site's content must be worth linking to in order for this to work, so blogging about the greenish tint on your grilled cheese sandwich probably isn't the way to go.
